Paul Kealy's play of the day at Newcastle

Jet Legs
There is plenty of competitive jumps action to get stuck into for once with healthy fields for most races at all three British meetings, and I am hoping Jet Legs will prove the bet of the day dropped in trip in the 2m4f handicap chase (2.45) at Newcastle.
The Gordon Elliott-trained Truckers Cruising would likely be a short-priced favourite if turning up, but as he was down to run at Hexham on Wednesday I would say that was unlikely, and I would still be interested in Jet Legs anyway.
He is a five-time winner and he has won over as far as 3m2f, but he was feeling the pinch over that trip around Carlisle's stiff track last time, which resulted in mistakes at the last two fences.
He had otherwise been running very well in a much better race than this and was probably value for a little more than his eventual nine-length sixth.
That was a decent heat, with the third winning the London National at Sandown on Saturday and the fifth running fourth in the Becher at Aintree, and Jet Legs also ran well on his seasonal return at Carlisle when just getting run out of things close home over 3m½f.
This is a big drop in trip but he won over this distance in a first-time visor at Hexham in March, and that headgear goes back on for the first time this season.
He has run some good races at Newcastle in the past, including a win and second to a subsequent premier handicap winner, and if he gets into a rhythm up front he might be hard to pass.
