The Punt Acca: Stuart Langley's three horse racing tips at Lingfield, Pontefract and Uttoxeter on Tuesday

Musical Touch (3.40 Pontefract)

Having progressed well in four runs last year, culminating in a win at Wolverhampton, Richard Fahey’s gelding has continued that improvement this season. He won on his reappearance at Thirsk off a mark of 75 and has since run with credit in two York handicaps. Sandwiched between those was a sound effort at Chelmsford - he was narrowly beaten despite having to race wide. He has to step up again, upped to a Class 2, but unlike the majority of his rivals, he could have more in the tank.

Amestris (5.00 Lingfield)

Michael Bell’s three-year-old showed plenty of promise at the beginning of her two-year-old campaign, going close in a decent Newmarket maiden on her debut before winning at Lingfield next time up. She was highly tried after that, running in Pattern events at Ascot, Goodwood and Newbury before bouncing back with a close second at Windsor. She never got involved on her reappearance at York but stepped up on that effort when a good second at Haydock last month. She pulled clear with the winner that day and could step forward again with Oisin Murphy back on board.

Ajp Kingdom (7.00 Uttoxeter)

Ajp Kingdom has run well in three starts this year without really threatening to get his nose in front. He ran well at Cheltenham in April before disappointing next time. Last time out was better and he had two of these rivals behind him, although he had no chance with the winner. He needs to build on that and a return to Uttoxeter could help. He is 2-2 at the track, winning once over hurdles and he also a course-and-distance win back in November. He is only 3lb higher for that win, and with the Fergal O’Brien yard in good form, his turn may be near again.
