12.40 Cheltenham
Timeform Novices' Handicap Chase, 2m4½f
Harry's tip: Billytherealbigred
Since winning a handicap hurdle at Leicester last January that worked out extremely well, Billytherealbigred has done nothing but improve, winning all his completed starts (fell when going easily in April). He's two from two over fences, winning by 14 lengths over this distance at Bangor in October before being strong at the finish over shorter at Exeter last month, despite jumping to his left throughout. He's up in grade, but the return to a left-handed track will suit on that latest evidence and a 7lb rise may underestimate him.
1.15 Cheltenham
JCB Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 2), 2m1f
Harry's tip: Sauvignon
East India Dock is the form standout and if he can reproduce that form on much softer ground he's the one to beat. At the likely odds, though, I'm siding with Sauvignon, who has joined Paul Nicholls after three starts in France. His latest Listed win reads very well, with the runner-up joining Willie Mullins for €200,000 and finishing third behind Triumph Hurdle fancy Hello Neighbour in a Grade 2 event at Leopardstown over Christmas, while the third had previously finished a length and a half behind subsequent Finale Juvenile Hurdle scorer Nietzsche Has.
1.30 Doncaster
Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Handicap Chase, 2m½f
Harry's tip: Petit Tonnerre
Petit Tonnerre hasn't won since his British debut at Market Rasen in 2022, but he has plenty of ability, as he showed when finishing seventh in the County Hurdle off a mark of 140 in 2023. It seems he's better when fresh, and the form of his reappearance second behind Imperial Saint (now 20lb higher) has been well advertised by the winner since. The 56-day break should have done him good and he gets in here off bottom weight under Richie McLernon, whose exaggerated waiting tactics could suit him well.
1.50 Cheltenham
Betfair Exchange Handicap Chase, 2m4½f
Harry's tip: Ginny's Destiny
Ginny's Destiny was disputing second with Protektorat (rated 12lb higher) for a long way in the Peterborough Chase last time. That was a fine effort considering he's better going left-handed, and he should get back to winning ways now returning to handicap company, with the soft ground also in his favour. He has two wins and a two-length second in the Turners Novices' Chase to his name from three starts over fences on the New course at Cheltenham and should prove too classy for his rivals off top weight.

2.05 Doncaster
Pertemps Network River Don Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2), 3m½f
Harry's tip: Jig's Forge
Western Knight proved his stamina when chasing home the impressive Jet Blue at Cheltenham last month, but he looks beatable and I'd rather take a chance on Jig's Forge. He was an impressive winner of a soft-ground maiden at Ffos Las on his rules debut, making all and pulling away in the closing stages despite racing very keenly. He jumped well that day and looks sure to be suited by the better ground and longer trip.
2.25 Cheltenham
Betfair Cotswold Chase (Grade 2), 3m1½f
Harry's tip: L'Homme Presse
I've long thought L'Homme Presse is capable of winning a Gold Cup and this should prove the perfect stepping stone to that, having finished fourth to Galopin Des Champs in last year's festival showpiece. He did brilliantly to finish third in the King George on his seasonal reappearance, given the ground would have been quick enough. He's better going left-handed, and should be extremely hard to beat back on his favoured soft ground and returned to this way around.
2.40 Doncaster
Virgin Bet Yorkshire Rose Mares' Hurdle (Grade 2), 3m½f
Harry's tip: Jetara
Kateira has been beaten on all three attempts over three miles, twice turned over at odds-on, so it looks best to take her on at the likely odds. Wyenot is improving and was impressive in a Listed race over course and distance last time, but she won't get as easy a time of it on the front here, so Irish raider Jetara gets the vote. She has to step up on her two recent efforts, but the first-time cheekpieces will hopefully help and she's a big player on form, given she was placed in competitive Grade 1s at the end of last season and gave 10lb or more to the entire field when winning a Listed event on her first try at this sort of distance in October.
3.00 Cheltenham
Unibet Hurdle (Grade 2), 2m1f
Harry's tip: Constitution Hill
Constitution Hill was too good for Lossiemouth on his return in the Christmas Hurdle last month and faces nothing of her calibre here, with his nearest-rated rival 29lb inferior. He can take his record under rules to ten from ten before claiming a second Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
3.15 Doncaster
Virgin Bet Great Yorkshire Handicap Chase, 3m
Harry's tip: Idalko Bihoue
Idalko Bihoue caught the eye when rallying for fifth over a shorter trip at Haydock last month and gets the vote off his low weight. Highly regarded by the Twiston-Davies team, his form over hurdles tailed off after placing in the Challow but he looked firmly back on track when romping home by seven lengths in a novice handicap chase at Cheltenham in October 2023. He's disappointed on all starts since, but this is the first time he's returned to a racecourse after fewer than 30 days away (the same as for his win) and he's now just 1lb higher than for his last success. The trip and ground look in his favour.
3.35 Cheltenham
Betfair Cleeve Hurdle (Grade 2), 3m
Harry's tip: Monmiral
It was good to see Crambo bounce back in the Long Walk Hurdle last time, but it's hard to forget his disappointments in the spring, while it can't be a coincidence that he's unbeaten right-handed (6-6) and just 2-7 this way around. Strong Leader has had wind surgery since tailing off in that race last time and is arguably better on a flatter track, so this could be the time to take them both on with Monmiral. He has a bit to find on ratings, but he won the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival, so we know he acts well at the track, and he made Strong Leader pull out all the stops in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury in November. He's the value play.
4.10 Cheltenham
Ais Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2), 2m4½f
Harry's tip: Potters Charm
Bill Joyce is a classy animal and will run well again, but he was put in his place by the speedier The New Lion in the Challow and the likelihood is the same will be the case with Potters Charm, who defied a massive drop in trip to take the Grade 1 Formby over 2m1f at Aintree on Boxing Day, having run out an emphatic winner of the Grade 2 Hyde Novices' Hurdle over 2m5f on his previous start. He looks a seriously smart prospect.
