Match preview

West Brom are holding on to the last unbeaten record in the Sky Bet Championship and they can preserve that status by beating Huddersfield at The Hawthorns.

There were fears that Albion were heading for a transitional season after missing out on promotion last term and losing some key players.

They lost their two top scorers as Newcastle loanee Dwight Gayle returned to Tyneside and Jay Rodriguez was sold to Burnley. And there was further change in the dugout with Slaven Bilic replacing James Shan.

However, Bilic wasted no time in reshaping the squad and his new-look side have hit the ground running, winning three games and drawing four.

On-loan West Ham winger Grady Diangana has been the pick of the new arrivals, scoring three goals in five league appearances, and there is scope for Albion to do even better if their new centre-forwards, Charlie Austin and Kenneth Zohore, rediscover the goalscoring touch.

West Brom are emerging as serious promotion contenders and will expect to overcome Huddersfield, who are in the drop zone with just one point from seven games.

The Terriers are likely to improve after appointing Danny Cowley, a bright manager with a superb record at Concord Rangers, Braintree and Lincoln.

But Cowley is not a magician and was unable to prevent the Terriers' 2-0 defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday last Sunday.

Huddersfield have scored just five goals this season, two of them penalties, and they may well be heading for more misery this weekend.

Key stat

Huddersfield's last ten matches have all featured under 3.5 goals.
