Outsider Andreas Seppi may be worth a modest each-way interest at a big price for the Rome Masters, which starts in the Italian capital on Sunday.

Men's tennis is in a state of flux with only Roger Federer, who is missing the clay season, and Rafael Nadal dominant forces.

Nadal has returned with a vengeance on the slow red courts, but after a golden run on the terrain even he was powerless to avoid losing to Dominic Thiem in Madrid on Friday.

The Spaniard is highly likely to return to title-winning ways in Rome, but as usual while there is seldom much point in having a punt in Nadal's half of the draw, the other side can be scoured for each-way opportunities.

Alexander Zverev, who was due to contest the second Madrid semi-final on Saturday night, looked in pole position in Spain to make it back-to-back wins after Munich glory a week ago and the German could again make his presence felt in Rome, where he is the defending champion.

However, after an opener against struggling Lucas Pouille, Seppi, who is playing well, could also meet Kyle Edmund and Zverev and could be overpriced.
