Wednesday's WTA Strasbourg International match betting preview, tip & TV details
Sam Stosur capable of making Dayana Yastremska toil in major prep
WTA Strasbourg
BT Sport 1, from 10am Wednesday
Dayana Yastremska has been universally backed to defeat Sam Stosur in their Strasbourg International last-16 clash, but if the Australian plays the game she is capable of she still could trouble the Ukrainian teenager.
Stosur's compatriot Ashleigh Barty pulled out of her top-seed role in the Alsace tournament due to a reported right arm injury, but it will be a surprise if the Aussie is not ready to go in the French Open, which starts on Sunday.
Barty's scratching gives Yastremska and Stosur a big opportunity, even though they are in the opposite half of the draw, because this tournament may now not take much winning.
Stosur, a dual champion in Strasbourg, looked on top of her game in a 6-3 6-1 round-one victory over Jessica Pegula, while Yastremska could actually be in for a tougher workout against the Queenslander than she was given in her 6-2 6-4 opening win over Pauline Parmentier.
Recommendation
S Stosur to win at least a set
