Allen ready to claim Scottish Open crown

Mark Allen lost out to Ronnie O'Sullivan in the final of the Betway UK Championship earlier this month but the Antrim Ace has made it to back-to-back finals and he can go one better with victory over Shaun Murphy in today's Scottish Open showdown.

It's an impressive achievement by Allen to make the final of two successive tournaments and even more so when you consider the sharp turnaround from York to Glasgow.

Daniel Wells took the Pistol to a deciding frame in the semi-final but a break of 129 got Allen over the line and his scoring power could be the difference again.

Murphy has excellent wins over Kyren Wilson and Judd Trump on his record this week but his open attacking style could give Allen plenty of opportunities and the Northern Irishman is unlikely to let chances go begging. Allen is rated a 17-20 shot to lift the Glasgow crown and that looks a price worth taking.
