The LA Rams were 2.5-point favourites for this game last week. Since then, the San Francisco 49ers got crushed by the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles enjoyed their bye week. Now the Rams find themselves as 1.5-point underdogs, but despite the flip, there’s still value in backing the Niners.

San Francisco acquired the services of star running back Christian McCaffrey from the Carolina Panthers last week, and McCaffrey’s arrival coupled with the return of Trent Williams and Joey Bosa immediately makes the Niners a force to be reckoned with.

San Fran are currently 3-4 but are only one win behind the Seahawks in the NFC West and will know that victory here would go a long way in their pursuit of the divisional crown.

The Rams are expecting to get wide receiver Van Jefferson back from injury this week, which is something they really need. Incredibly, LA has scored the second-fewest points in the NFL this season, and now they have to take on a ferocious 49ers defence that will be desperate to bounce back from last week, when they allowed Kansas City to put 44 points on them.

This will be a very tough assignment for Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who has looked worryingly average through the first few weeks of the season.

With McCaffrey added, the 49ers' offence has the potential to dominate with Deebo Samuel and Jeff Wilson having already run riot out of the backfield. Although the Rams have home-field advantage, expect the 49ers to give their opponents all they can handle and then some.
