Scotland gave yet another indication of how their style and effectiveness is evolving in their 22-17 defeat to New Zealand last week, when at times their attacking play was outstanding.

This year the Scots have scored 33 tries in ten matches - just five years ago that tally read 14 in 11 for 2012.

And their scoring edge could count again in a high-scoring match against another ambitious attacking team in Australia.

This fixture has become something of a grudge affair since the Scots were edged out by a point in a controversial Rugby World Cup quarter-final in 2015. They lost by a point again at Murrayfield a year later before finally landing a win in Sydney last June.

The Scots scored nine tries in those three games - as many as they scored in the previous 13 meetings - and the matches produced eight, five and six tries in total.

Australia unusually failed to cross the line in their 30-6 defeat to England last week - the last time they drew a blank in an autumn international in the northern hemisphere was in 2006 against Ireland.

However, tough conditions played a part and they had two tries ruled out by the video ref, and there is a wealth of talent in their backline.

This could be a high-scoring game and an overs bet on total tries or points could be a worthwhile investment, while the 9-2 that Scotland open the scoring with a try is a price to snap up.
