Gloucester's fast start to the Premiership season was halted by a determined Saracens effort on Saturday and they could face a similar problem against a powerful Toulouse outfit on Friday evening.

The French side’s three-quarter line is made up entirely of returning World Cup players in Thomas Ramos, Yoann Huget, Sofiane Guitoune Romain Ntamack and Maxime Medard, but it is up front where Toulouse should pack more of a punch.

Gloucester struggled against the physicality of Saracens and a powerful Toulouse pack including former All Blacks Charlie Faumuina and Jerome Kaino represents another stern test.

There is a good chance of rain at Kingsholm, which would hinder the playmaking skills of Gloucester half-backs Joe Simpson and Danny Cipriani, and the hosts could well find themselves on the back foot throughout.

Toulouse won at Bath and Wasps in last season’s pool campaign and are the only French side with a winning record away from home. They can kick off with a victory.
