Match preview

Australia stunned world champions South Africa with a last-gasp win in the Rugby Championship last weekend but the Boks are rightly favourites to bounce back with a win.

Ex-England captain Martin Johnson famously said during this summer's Lions tour that when Plan A isn't working, the Springbok team don't switch to Plan B - they just carry out Plan A better.

So we can expect a big physical and defensive showing from South Africa and it should be enough to tip the balance back their way.

Quade Cooper made a surprise return at fly-half for the Wallabies last week and nailed all eight of his kicks, including the clinching points at the death in a 28-26 success.

But there's a reason why that was Cooper's first Test in four years as he is consistently branded mercurial. Ironically, his normally ultra-reliable counterpart Handre Pollard missed three kicks at goal, but it would be no surprise to see another tight contest and Pollard coming out on top this time.
