Six Nations round five: England v Scotland betting preview, tips & TV details
Jonny May can lead way for big Red Rose win over injury-hit Scots at Twickenham
ITV, 5pm Saturday
England will know when they run out at Twickenham whether the Six Nations title is still there to aim for, but even if Wales have landed a Grand Slam there is no reason to think there will be any drop in intensity or commitment.
Coach Eddie Jones has praised his players for sticking to the task for the full 80 minutes in home matches against France and Italy. With World Cup places there to be claimed plus the revenge factor of last year's defeat at Murrayfield, England have no reason to hold back.
Having rolled out his big guns against Italy last week, Jones has rung the changes again so there's no room in the 23 for last week's man of the match Joe Cokanasiga.
Henry Slade also comes back into the midfield for Ben Te'o, so instead of last week's hugely physical backline there's a more balanced, playmaking line-up.
A similar selection ran in six tries against France last month, five of them coming from kick-chases, and with Slade there to add to the kicking options of Owen Farrell and Elliot Daly, it would be no surprise to see England adopt a similar strategy against a makeshift Scotland back three.
With Stuart Hogg and Blair Kinghorn injured, Sean Maitland starts at full-back. The Saracens man has won six of his 39 Scotland caps wearing the number 15 shirt but is more at home on the wing, while Darcy Graham and Byron McGuigan complete the back three.
Jack Nowell comes in on one wing for England but Jonny May remains the out-and-out gas in the side, and with his record of 13 tries in England's last 14 Tests, and five in this tournament, he has to be the pick to score the first try.
If England get the kind of go-forward they enjoyed in their home wins against France and Italy it should be the platform for another 80-minute performance and comfortable victory.
With 14 tries in their two home matches - and seven in their last Twickenham duel with Scotland - they have shown they have the firepower to make their mark.
