Match preview

Nottingham Forest and Cardiff are under early pressure after poor starts to the season and the Bluebirds look the more likely to respond with a victory in their clash at the City Ground.

Cardiff manager Neil Harris was unimpressed by last Saturday's 2-0 loss at home to Sheffield Wednesday which followed a dismal 3-0 loss at Northampton in the EFL Cup.

However, Harris's team finished strongly last season to reach the playoffs and it may be a little early to write them out of the promotion reckoning.

There are bigger problems to address for Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi, who is not getting the best out of an expensively assembled squad.

Lamouchi's side slipped out of the top six on the final weekend of last season by losing 4-1 at home to Stoke.

They were poor in a 2-0 defeat at QPR last Saturday and look opposable against Cardiff.

Key stat

Nottingham Forest have not won any of their last eight fixtures
