Kansas City's trip to New England has the potential to be one of the games of the season and the two pretenders to the AFC crown are expected to dish up a thriller.

The Chiefs have fond memories of their last trip to Foxborough when they claimed a 42-27 victory on the opening night of last season and there is every indication that they will be positive again.

Andy Reid's team have been in blistering form with five straight victories and quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been a revelation in his first campaign as a starter.

It will be a tough task against the NFL powerhouses and the Patriots have steadied the ship after away defeats to Detroit and Jacksonville, taking up their customary position at the top of the AFC East.

Bill Belichick's team have the benefit of extra rest following their victory over Indianapolis in Week Five's Thursday game, but the Chiefs are set to provide a much sterner test than the Colts gave them or Miami managed the week before.

It may be a concern that 11 of the 12 touchdowns the Patriots have conceded have come through the air as no team have scored more than Kansas City's tally of 14 passing touchdowns.

Mahomes has not thrown an interception in any of his three appearances away from Arrowhead and with the Jags and Lions having put up decent numbers against the Patriots, the Chiefs should at least remain competitive.
