Match preview

The first NFL game in Germany takes place when Seattle face Tampa Bay in Munich, and the Seahawks look good value to at least cover the spread.

Seattle have been a real surprise package this season, having been expected to be one of the league’s worst teams, but they are top of the NFC West with a 6-3 record. The Bucs meanwhile have been the opposite. Hopes were sky high but they are muddling through with a 4-5 record.

Although Tampa still have Tom Brady leading the way at quarterback, their run game has particularly struggled. Leonard Fournette is last in the NFL in rush yards over expected, and it might not be long before we see rookie running-back Rachaad White getting more carries.

The Seahawks meanwhile have looked electric on offence behind quarterback Geno Smith and first-season rusher Kenneth Walker. Their youngsters have been a driving force behind this team and their hunger to succeed is a major reason why they are outperforming expectations.

This game has an unpredictability factor with it taking place in Munich, and that could affect the Seahawks players more given that they will be playing in a time-zone nine hours ahead of their home.

But this team has shown plenty of strength and against a Buccaneers outfit who are still dealing with plenty of issues, there is value in taking the team in form with a three-point head start.
