Match preview

Newcastle United will be looking to boost their survival hopes at Turf Moor on Sunday as they take on a Burnley side still flirting with relegation.

With Fulham losing 1-0 against Wolves on Friday night, the Magpies have the chance to increase their three-point gap to the Cottagers and move a step closer to retaining their top-flight status.

However, Steve Bruce's men have been poor on the road, winning just one of their last ten away league matches, and it is hard to back them to win with any confidence.

Burnley are not in great form either, having won just one of their last seven top-flight matches, and they have drawn their last five home league games.

With neither side easy to trust, it could prove shrewd to back both teams to score in this encounter, with both outfits fragile at the back.

The Clarets have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five attempts, conceding ten during that run, while the Magpies have recorded just one shutout in their last nine games.

Burnley have impressed at the other end of the pitch, netting six goals in their last four outings, while Newcastle scored twice last time out in their draw against Tottenham.

The north-east outfit are set to welcome top scorer Callum Wilson back into the squad, which will provide a huge boost, but the absence of captain Jamaal Lascelles at the back will hurt them and that could present Burnley with goalscoring opportunities.

Both teams to score has happened in five of the last seven meetings between the teams at Turf Moor, and backing it to happen again looks the betting route to go down.

Key stat

Both teams to score has landed in five of Burnley's last seven home Premier League games.
