Match preview

Leicester City occupied a top-four spot at the end of 33 of their 38 Premier League match weeks last season but finished the season in fifth and the club's fans may be fearful history could repeat itself this term.

The Foxes have been in the Champions League positions all season but the gap between them and fifth position has been narrowed to five points after a run of poor results.

The Midlands outfit have managed only one win in their last four matches in all competitions, having been dumped out of the Europa League by Slavia Prague at the last-32 stage before a 3-1 defeat to inconsistent Arsenal last time out.

The European exit should only help Leicester's cause in the Premier League but they will be wary of a decline being sparked by that Arsenal defeat and can grind out a crucial win against Burnley to get back on track.

Leicester have been hit by a string of injuries, with Jonny Evans and Harvey Barnes joining James Maddison, James Justin, Wesley Fofana, Ayoze Perez, Dennis Praet and Wes Morgan on the sidelines.

The absence of Maddison and Barnes weakens them in attack but they at least have Jamie Vardy available and, with the support of Cengiz Under and Ricardo Pereira among others, they should outscore shot-shy Burnley.

Only Sheffield United have scored fewer goals than the Clarets in the Premier League this term and, although Sean Dyche's men can keep it tight, they have won once in their last eight fixtures and are worth opposing after a 4-0 thrashing at Tottenham last time out.

Key stat

Nine of Leicester's 15 league wins this term have come away from home.
