Sky Sports Football, 3am Friday night

Celebrity fans of the Los Angeles football rivals will gather to see and be seen in Carson for the fourth edition of El Trafico which should provide stacks of entertainment.

Visitors Los Angeles FC are hard to dislike having already forged 11 points clear in the Western Conference after 20 matches.

But the Galaxy, the elder statesman of the pair, will be absolutely pumped for the occasion and optimistic that form won’t dictate the outcome.

Not that the Galaxy’s form is to be sniffed at. They are third in the Western Conference and playoff-bound.

But their numbers don’t compare to those of Bob Bradley’s side, who have banged in 53 goals, more than anyone else and almost twice as many as the Galaxy have racked up.

But order and shape may well go out of the window in a fixture which produces thrills and spills. The new rivals have crossed swords three times and both teams have scored in all three with a grand total of 13 goals.

Both sides possess red-hot strikers – Zlatan Ibrahimovic has got 13 in 16 for the Galaxy (almost 50 per cent of their collective haul) while 19-goal Carlos Vela has failed to find the net in only three of his last 12. And he has scored four times in three showdowns with their derby opponents.

The upshot is that over 3.5 goals is a miserable 11-10.

Los Angeles have scored 25 first-half goals this term, so take them to be ahead at the break.

Recommendation
Los Angeles FC to be leading at half-time
