Scotland have appointed former Kilmarnock boss Steve Clarke as their new manager.

The 55-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the national side, who are 33-1 to win Group I in the Euro 2020 qualifiers after taking three points from their opening two games.

Alex McLeish was dismissed as Scotland boss in April after only one year in charge following a 3-0 loss to Kazakhstan and a slender win away to San Marino.

Clarke was voted SPFA Manager of the Year after guiding Kilmarnock to third place - their best league finish since 1966 - and a place in the Europa League.

The Tartan Army host Cyprus on June 8 before a trip to Belgium, who are 1-10 favourites to top Group I.
