Jan Siewert appointed new Huddersfield Town manager
German replaces David Wagner in Terriers hotseat
Huddersfield's search for a new manager has concluded with German Jan Siewert joining the club from Borussia Dortmund's second team - following in the footsteps of David Wagner, who made the same move in November 2015.
Siewert joins the Terriers on a two-and-a-half year deal and his immediate challenge is to mastermind a miraculous escape from the bottom three.
After taking one point from ten Premier League games the Terriers are ten points adrift of safety and can be backed at 14-1 to escape the drop and just 1-25 to go down.
Siewert was heavily backed to get the job – shortening to a low of 1-25 – and gets the nod ahead of Mark Hudson, who was the odds-on favourite last week.
Hudson took charge for one game as caretaker-manager, presiding over Sunday's 3-0 loss at home to Manchester City.
