He’s been in charge of the club for only two matches but it’s already clear that Henrik Larsson has transformed Helsingborg.

The fallen Swedish giants, promoted this season after two years down a level, had started the 2019 campaign awfully under Per-Ola Ljung and were in the bottom three when he was axed last month.

The club summoned legend Larsson, the former Celtic and Barcelona frontman, and have gained four points out of six since his arrival. Expect them to make it seven points out of nine by seeing off Sirius.

Helsingborg should have a 100 per cent record under Larsson. They won 1-0 at Orebro and even after Andreas Granqvist missed a penalty they were still leading 1-0 at Elfsborg until the hosts snatched a barely deserved equaliser.

Those results were all the more creditable since both Orebro and Elfsborg play on artificial pitches, as do Sirius. They head south after two straight away wins, again both achieved at clubs who play on plastic, Orebro and Norrkoping.

Helsingborg, however, play on grass so Larsson’s lads will feel they have a sizeable edge for their league showdown with the side from Uppsala.

Goals might be at a premium as Larsson needs to rethink his attacking options following top scorer Rasmus Jonsson’s move to Thailand. Ghanaian Mamudo Moro is pencilled in for lone frontman duties but his scoring record this term has been poor.

Defensively, however, Helsingborg look solid again and Sirius don’t pose much of a threat going forward.
