FA Cup betting news: Sunday favourites get the job done
Wolves, Crystal Palace and Swansea reach last eight
All three FA Cup fifth-round favourites got the job done on Sunday as Wolves, Crystal Palace and Swansea booked their places in the quarter-finals.
Wolves obliged at 10-11 in a tricky contest against in-form Sky Bet Championship side Bristol City at Ashton Gate as Ivan Cavaleiro's 28th-minute strike was enough to send Wanderers through.
Crystal Palace eased past Doncaster 2-0 at the Keepmoat Stadium. Jeffrey Schlupp and Max Meyer scored for the Eagles, who were the shortest-priced favourites of the day at 8-11.
Schlupp was 16-1 with bet365 to open the scoring.
Swansea joined their Championship colleagues Millwall in the quarter-finals after they thumped second-tier rivals Brentford 4-1 at the Liberty Stadium.
The Swans had to come from behind after Brentford opened the scoring in the 28th minute through Ollie Watkins but a bizarre Luke Daniels' own goal restored parity early in the second half.
Daniel James put the home side ahead with a lightning-fast breakaway goal and it became plain sailing for the Swans after Brentford's Ezri Konsa was sent off for a professional foul in the 61st minute. The Brentford-Swansea double result was a 30-1 poke with 188Bet.
Swansea are the lowest-rated side left in the competition at 80-1 with Betfair and Paddy Power, while Millwall are a general 66-1.
Manchester City are red-hot 11-10 favourites with Chelsea 13-2 second favourites and their Monday-night opponents Manchester United next best at 8-1.
Wolves are 17-2 for Wembley glory with Palace are 10-1 and remaining Premier League pair Watford and Brighton are 12-1 and 18-1 respectively.
Middlesbrough are 3-1 to be promoted after they moved up to fifth in the Championship with a 1-0 win at Blackburn.
The biggest shock on Sunday came in a league game as Real Madrid were stunned by a 2-1 home defeat to 14-1 shots Girona. Los Blancos are out to 14-1 for the Spanish title after falling nine points behind leaders Barcelona. Sergio Ramos was sent off for Real - his 20th expulsion in the Spanish top flight and the 25th of his career.
