Lille v Sevilla

Where to watch

BT Sport Extra 3, 8pm

Best bet

Sevilla
1pt 13-10 Betfair, Coral, Ladbrokes

Preview

French champions Lille looked as though they may be getting their act together in Ligue 1 with a run of three straight wins over Reims, Strasbourg and Marseille but defeat to Clermont last time out suggests there are still vulnerabilities in Jocelyn Gourvennec's side.

Lille's Champions League campaign is also yet to go to plan with a goalless draw with Wolfsburg, who they should have beaten, preceding a 2-1 defeat to Salzburg.

The Ligue 1 side look a pale imitation of last season's title-winning vintage and, even with Burak Yilmaz returning to the side after missing the Clermont game through suspension, they are worth opposing against improving Sevilla.

The Andalusians are fresh from a 1-0 win over Celta Vigo which lifted them to third in La Liga and will be hoping to capitalise on the absence of injured Lille talents Sven Botman and Leo Jardim at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Key stats

  • Sevilla have won three of their last five games in all competitions
  • Lille have lost two of their last three matches in all competitions
  • Both teams have scored in three of Lille's last five games

Zenit v Juventus

Where to watch

BT Sport Extra 2, 8pm

Best bet

Juventus
1pt 6-5 general

Preview

Punters would have been wary of backing Juventus in any contest at the start of September but Max Allegri's men have got their season back on track.

The Old Lady still find themselves outside the European places in Serie A as a result of their poor start and have plenty of work still to do if they are to challenge for the Scudetto.

But they have won their last five matches in all competitions, seeing off Chelsea, Roma and local rivals Torino during that run.

Juve's Italian contingent, containing the likes of Euro 2020 winners Manuel Locatelli and Federico Chiesa, are starting to shine again and they look well-placed to maintain their perfect group-stage record.

Zenit have limped to defeats against Sochi and Arsenal Tula in their last two domestic outings and Juve represent a significant step up from those opponents.

Key stats

  • Juventus have won their last five competitive games
  • Juventus have enjoyed three straight wins to nil
  • Each of Zenit's last five games have featured over 2.5 goals

Benfica v Bayern Munich

Where to watch

BT Sport ESPN, 8pm

Best bet

Bayern Munich to win & over 3.5 goals
1pt 15-8 Betfair, Boylesports, PaddyPower

Preview

Any punters doubting Bayern Munich's Bundesliga title credentials under Julian Nagelsmann were left with egg on their face at the weekend as the Bavarians thumped Bayer Leverkusen 5-1.

All five of their goals came in a rampant first-half blitz and they have now won ten of their last 11 games in a run stretching back to their German Super Cup success over Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern are back to their imperious best and Benfica could be the latest team to feel the wrath of Germany's finest.

The Lisbon club have started their European campaign well but their recent league defeat to Portimonense shows there are defensive deficiencies to be exposed and their threat at the other end will be weakened by the absence of Haris Seferovic.

There should be plenty of goals at the Estadio da Luz - even if they are scored by Bayern - with four of the visitors' last five matches containing at least four strikes.

Key stats

  • Bayern Munich to win and over 3.5 goals has clicked in four of their last five games
  • Bayern Munich have won their first two Champions League group games by an aggregate 8-1 scoreline
  • Both teams have scored in three of Benfica's last five fixtures

Young Boys v Villarreal

Where to watch

BT Sport Extra 4, 8pm

Best bet

Young Boys draw no bet
1pt 13-10 Hills

Preview

Young Boys are trailing Basel in the Swiss Super League this season but they have shown plenty of promise in Europe and can cause problems for Villarreal in Bern.

The Swiss outfit opened their Champions League campaign with a shock win over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United, having left it until the 95th minute to grab the winner but winning the shot count 19-2 on that occasion.

That win was followed by a hard-fought 1-0 defeat by Atalanta on matchday two and they could be a great outside bet to defeat Villarreal, who have taken one point from their two group games.

The Yellow Submarine are sinking in La Liga, losing to Osasuna last time out and winning only two of their opening eight matches, with a lack of a cutting edge costing them dear in the final third.

The best strategy could be to back the hosts in the draw-no-bet market at a generous 13-10.

Key stats

  • Young Boys have won six of their last eight games in all competitions
  • Villarreal have managed one win in their last four matches
  • Three of Young Boys's last four contests have featured under 3.5 goals

Salzburg v Wolfsburg

Where to watch

BT Sport ESPN, 5.45pm

Best bet

Karim Adeyemi to score
1pt 7-4 Betfair, Paddy Power

Preview

With four points gained from matches against Lille and Sevilla, Salzburg have made a solid start to their Champions League campaign and if they are to cause a stir against Wolfsburg, one man will surely play a key role.

The Austrian champions will be without forwards Benjamin Sesko and Sekou Koita for this contest but as long as Karim Adeyemi is on the pitch, Salzburg have a chance.

The 19-year-old forward could soon be playing Wolfsburg on a regular basis with the Munich-born sensation having attracted the attention of German giants Bayern. But for now he is impressing for Salzburg with eight goals in ten league matches putting him top of the Austrian scoring charts.

Adeyemi netted a brace of penalties in Salzburg's win over Lille and is a great bet to score at any time against Wolfsburg, who have lost their last three league games.

Key stats

  • Karim Adeyemi has scored 11 goals in 15 matches in all competitions this season
  • Both teams have scored in each of Salzburg's last three games
  • Wolfsburg have lost their last three league games on the spin

Barcelona v Dynamo Kiev

Where to watch

BT Sport 1, 5.45pm

Best bet

Barcelona to win to nil
1pt 11-10 general

Preview

For the first time in Champions League history, Barcelona lost both of their opening group games in the competition but they can bounce back with a solid win over Dynamo Kiev.

Barca were smashed 3-0 by both Benfica and Bayern Munich in their first two matches but can now prepare to face a side who are far less potent in attack and have also failed to score in this season's competition.

Kiev drew 0-0 at home to Benfica before losing 5-0 at Bayern and they were also beaten 3-0 by Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukrainian Super Cup final last month.

Barcelona have a lot of work still to do under Ronald Koeman but a 3-1 win over Valencia last time out will have been a huge boost to their morale

They have kept out Cadiz and Levante in recent La Liga contests and could be a great odds-against bet to beat Kiev without conceding.

Key stats

  • Dynamo Kiev have failed to score in three of their last five games
  • Dynamo Kiev have lost three of their last five games in all competitions
  • Both teams have scored in only one of Barca's last five games
