gr f Soviet Star (USA) - Doon Point (Kenmare)
Towards rear, went moderate 8th straight, kept on without threatening under pressure (trainer's rep said, regarding and riding, the instructions were to settle the filly as she can be keen, race in 4th or 5th and to do his best; he said jockey was instructed not to fight the filly as she is very light mouthed; he added that in his opinion the filly was unable to go the pace and only stayed on past beaten horses. Jockey confirmedt he instructions and said that filly was unable to go the early pace so he sat until racing down the hill; at this point she was well on the bridle but she could not make any challenge unless he switched her to race five horses wide and lose considerable ground; he accepted that she ran on well from the entrance to the straight but was only passing some tired horses in the process; he felt that if he had got a run down the hill that he would probably have finished closer; he added that in his opinion filly needs a trip of 1 1/2 miles with the same class of opposition and to be ridden close to the pace to reap the best result.)
