If you don't have to work today, go racing. There are a number of future stars on show at Sandown with the likes of impressive debut winner Il Primo Sole taking on the unbeaten Godolphin-owned Last Voyage in the conditions stakes (2.35), while there's a Frankel juvenile on show.

He's not just any old offspring of Frankel, he's also a half-brother to Kingman. Of course Khalid Abdullah owns the John Gosden-trained colt, named First Eleven, and connections will hope the fantastic family genes have passed down in the family so he can fend off his eleven rivals – there's a football joke in there somewhere!

Final thought

Isn't it great to see a good midweek fixture at Sandown? Wednesdays can be dull for top-class action but there are several runners on show today who could be top class.
