All you need to start your day including the latest going from all the tracks
Four of Britain's five meetings today are on the Flat, but attentions will likely be focused on the sole jumps fixture at Uttoxeter as veteran rider Andrew Thornton takes the final rides of his highly decorated career.
Thornton has four rides, the last of whom is Manhattan Spring in the 3.40, a four-runner novice hurdle that looks a bit of a match between Thornton and Daryl Jacob on Stradivarius Davis.
Had it not been for Thornton's valedictory mounts, the main source of interest would have been the Class 2 conditions stakes at Hamilton (3.30), which brings together smart sprinters Kimberella, Sir Dancealot and Laugh A Minute.
Other fixtures come from Wolverhampton and Navan in the afternoon, and Kempton and Wetherby in the evening.

What to watch
Jockey Holle Doyle took on an inter-sport challenge with Arsenal and England footballer Leah Williamson. Find out how she got on.
Both are surely playing for second behind French rider Elaura Cieslik, however, after this bit of rodeo riding.

Final thought
Andrew Thornton has probably spanned the racing lifetime of any fan under the age of 40. He certainly feels like the last of a breed. Before he has even had his last rides in public, it is hard to escape the sense that, in one way or another, we'll all miss him once he's gone.
