Delight for Dixons as Big Country among four-timer for De Sousa and Appleby

Champion jockey Silvestre de Sousa and trainer Mick Appleby took Pontefract by storm on Sunday with a sensational four-timer, which reportedly cost bookmakers millions.
However, it was not just De Sousa's backers who were rewarded with the success of Big Country in the Listed SkyBet Pomfret Stakes.
Owners The Horse Watchers turned down more than one six-figure sum for the gelding after his successful first season in their black-and-orange colours and, just as importantly, in the care of Mick Appleby, and their boldness has been rewarded.
