She has no flowers but Julia Brooke is still celebrating True Romance
Trainer Julia Brooke faced some anxious moments last week as water surged through her yard in Leyburn, North Yorkshire. Happily, bar the decapitation of some flowers, the yard escaped relatively unscathed.
And Brooke was able to enjoy a much more relaxing experience at Catterick on Tuesday when the thriving True Romance cruised to victory in the 1m4f handicap under Graham Lee, backing up an impressive success at Musselburgh last month.
"We've no flowers left," said Brooke, reflecting on last week's floods which also hit Mark Johnston's yard. "We had a few flowers and they looked quite nice, but then they got all their heads taken off.
