Those who stayed around the paddock between the Denman and Game Spirit Chases were rewarded with a sumptuous sight.
There they were, Altior and Native River, both magnificent to the eye, a gorgeous reminder of memorable triumphs for the home team at Cheltenham. The parading pair's victories came only a few years ago but it was different back then.
We live in a period of Irish hegemony, and it will surely continue next month, but for those with shares in British jumping there were at least signs of promise on Betfair Super Saturday.
