King breaks new ground as Dromquinna gives dual-purpose trainer first course win

Alan King conquered his 54th course with success at the Yorkshire venue after Dromquinna struck at the third time of asking, in the process giving the master of Barbury Castle a first two-year-old success of the campaign.

King now has six more courses to complete his full house. He got off the mark at Beverley after Martin Harley, who has ridden King's last three winners, got a dream run up the inside rail on Dromquinna to beat Galah half a length in the 7½f fillies' maiden.

Pontefract and Redcar are Yorkshire venues yet to fall to Scottish-born King, while his homeland houses the other four in Musselburgh, Hamilton, Kelso and Perth.
