Kim Bailey hopes Does He Know can be the horse to end a quarter-of-a-century wait for a Grade 1 winner after the five-year-old struck in the Grade 2 Ballymore Novices' Hurdle in impressive style.

Does He Know was making it three from three over hurdles and stayed on strongly to hold off Wild Romance by three lengths and set up a tilt at the Challow Hurdle at Newbury on December 29.

Bailey will look to end Bailey's Grade 1 drought which dates back to Master Oats's Gold Cup victory in 1995. He said: "David [Bass] said afterwards that was his best performance. It was a good win and I'm very pleased with him.
