Blue Point impresses in prep for Al Quoz Sprint as Godolphin dominate
Godolphin dominated the card with four winners and class prevailed in the Group 2 Meydan Sprint, a 5f turf dash Sheikh Mohammed's operation had not previously won, with Blue Point proving far too good for his five rivals, scorching clear of Australian speedster Faatinah to go one better in a race in which he had chased home repeat winner Ertijaal last year.
Sent off the 1-4 favourite, the Charlie Appleby-trained five-year-old led two furlongs out under William Buick and quickly had the race in safe keeping, scoring by five lengths.
The 6f Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint on the Dubai World Cup night, a race Blue Point was strongly fancied to win last year when he was withdrawn pre-race on veterinary advice, is once again the target.
