Ambitious 3lb apprentice Stefano Cherchi has big dreams, but Show Yourself, who won the 5f handicap, is likely to have a special place in his heart regardless of what he goes on to achieve in his career.

The James Tate-trained filly, who runs in the familiar silks of Saeed Manana, was making it four wins from five starts under the young rider and their only defeat came at Listed level in the Beverley Bullet prior to her latest success.

"It's not easy to find a horse who wins four races for you," said the loved-up Cherchi. "I was delighted with her today because she battled well and won off a career-high mark.

"She deserves to get some black type in her career and last time was a hot race against older horses, but I'm sure she can get some."

The 20-year-old is the only jockey to have won on Show Yourself and he added: "I don't know why that is, but I've been lucky to get on her and connections were very kind to let me ride her in that Listed race."

Fellow Italian Marco Ghiani, set to be champion apprentice this term, has enjoyed plenty of headlines in 2021 and Cherchi said: "I've ridden almost 60 winners now and that's my 26th this year, so I'm really pleased with the way things are going.

"Hopefully I can keep going the right way and Marco is also having a brilliant season. We're good friends, we help each other and we're both aiming for the top."
