The Lowdown: going updates, racecards, news and tips for today's racing
Today's news
- GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY:Hot Ayr Gold Cup favourite Buffer Zone is ahead of the handicapper after his win at the Curragh on Sunday. The Ger Lyons-trained sprinter is officially 3lb well-in under his 5lb penalty and faces 24 rivals in the £200,000 sprint.
- NEW RECRUIT: Edwulf, who made a miraculous recovery from a near-death experience to win the Unibet Irish Gold Cup for Joseph O'Brien in 2018, is to continue his career with Enda Bolger. The trainer is lowering his sights with Edwulf, who has been granted a hunters' certificate and will be aimed at point-to-points.
- JUDDMONTE STAR: Frankel filly Quadrilateral shot to the head of the betting for next year's Qipco 1,000 Guineas with an emphatic nine-length win at Newbury for Roger Charlton and Jason Watson. Multiple firms cut her into 10-1 for next year's Newmarket fillies' Classic.
- HUGE SUCCESS: Pat Smullen has described himself as "overwhelmed" after the charity drive he spearheaded over Irish Champions Weekend raised more than €2.5 million for pancreatic cancer trials.
- BACK TO ACTION:Top conditional jockey Rex Dingle could return to riding on Tuesday after completing his recovery from the neck injury which led to a spell of more than four months on the sidelines.

Today's tips
Pietro Innocenzi's top tip
Presidential
2.40 Ayr
The drop back to what should be a strongly run 6f could be just what Presidential needs. He finished first and second in two runs over the trip on decent ground last season and removing the cheekpieces he has worn in recent starts is probably a good move as he's been racing lazily.
