Four horses to note now the ground has turned softer at York and Newmarket
Overnight rain has turned the going descriptions at Newmarket and York to good to soft. Here are four horses whose chances have been done no harm by the change in underfoot conditions.
Dark Lochnagar(12.55 York)
No surprise there has been a little money around for this four-year-old after the change in ground as his first win came on soft at Redcar at two and his other win was on soft at Chester last July, where he galloped them into submission, albeit over a shorter trip than today's 1m4f.

Ritchie Valens (1.30 York)
A winner on the all-weather last month on his first start for new connections, he had run his best race on soft ground at Newbury last August when second to Torcello. Some of his main market rivals have question marks over these ground conditions.
Dubai Love(2.40 York)
She won the UAE 1,000 Guineas on a fast dirt surface at Meydan but had impressed in winning her maiden on deep, officially heavy, ground at Nottingham last October. She was far from disgraced under her big weight in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot on her first run back on turf after her Meydan exploits but her two main market rivals Ricetta and Pocket Square also have no fears of a softer surface.
Alounak (4.10 Newmarket)
This German import won two Listed races on soft ground at Dusseldorf and was not disgraced in Group 1 defeat to the David Menuisier-trained Danceteria in Munich last July. He outran his 40-1 odds in finishing second to Fanny Logan in the Hardwicke at Royal Ascot last month on similar ground so any more rain at Newmarket will increase his chances.
