All you need to start your day including going from all the tracks

Most of the British action is on the Flat on Tuesday and Yarmouth's eight-race card looks above average for the track.

The meeting begins with four consecutive two-year-old races with the opening nursery (1.30) followed by three fillies only novice contests. John Gosden, Charlie Appleby and William Haggas are just three of the powerhouse trainers represented by newcomers with pedigrees to die for.

All-weather action runs throughout the day with Newcastle's afternoon meeting followed by Kempton's evening session as the light fades.

Irish trainer Michael O'Callaghan has two runners at the Surrey track in Fastidious, who has been knocking on the door in handicaps of late (6.10) and Evasive Power, who after winning on debut also looks to regain the winning thread in the 6f novice (7.10).

O'Callaghan also sends a few of his string more to Gowran Park, which ensures Irish Flat racing fans have something to savour. Exeter is the only place for jumping today.

Final thought

We seem to be seeing more Irish trainers aiming runners at a lower class of meeting in Britain in recent years which brings an extra dimension to races. However, one can't help but wonder whether there should be more domestic cards for Irish trainers to target.
