Hoping Go Conquer can live up to his name as National approaches
Next week is always special, particularly if you have a ride in the Randox Health Grand National and we schooled all our National and Topham runners over some Aintree-type fences at Grange Hill Farm on Thursday morning.
Go Conquer, who I ride in the National, Ballyoptic, Ballyhill, Flying Angel and Crievehill schooled nicely, and we’re happy with them all.
Although Go Conquer is a ten-year-old, he remains lightly raced since joining us last summer. He has improved in all three runs this season and was an impressive winner of the Listed Sky Bet Handicap Chase at Doncaster in January. He’s been deliberately kept fresh for Aintree since then – that’s why he missed Cheltenham – and is in tremendous shape.
