Looking back

Vicente didn’t win the conditions chase at Taunton last Saturday, but he certainly felt like he retains all of his ability. A combination of watering and overnight rain meant the ground just went against him. There is no reason why he cannot make a bold bid to land a third Scottish Grand National in April.

Early Morning Rain has a fine attitude, and ran a nice race in the mares’ bumper to finish second. She is owned by a great bunch of people and they have every right to be optimistic. She’ll win soon.

Richard Newland places his horses so well and there have been two excellent examples in recent days.
