Don't write off Victor Ludorum's chances
Alex Pantall is a master at bringing his horses forward from their first to their second start and The Summit looked hard-fit when landing the Prix de Fontainebleau under a positive ride from Pierre-Charles Boudot.
Victor Ludorum never settled and, while he ran flat in the straight, it would be wrong to write off his Poule d'Essai chances on the basis of a trial defeat, and it may be that bookmakers overreacted in pushing him out to 7-2.
That said, the winner is clearly a smart horse and should now figure among the favourites for the Classic on June 1.
