Jockeys, trainers and staff who go to Longchamp may be spared full quarantine

Frankie Dettori will be able to ride Enable and not spend a week in full quarantine providing Public Health England backs a BHA proposal for new Covid-19 protocols that also remove some barriers to trainers such as John Gosden being in Paris.

In a development that would permit Britain's top riders to take Arc weekend mounts and then still compete at Newmarket's Future Champions festival, jockeys, trainers and stable staff may no longer need to completely self-isolate on their return from France.

Work by BHA chief medical adviser Dr Jerry Hill, supported by the Professional Jockeys Association, Dettori and Ryan Moore, has led to PHE being forwarded a submission which it will consider on Tuesday.
