The people's race could still have people present after Aintree stressed the importance of having a crowd for the Randox Grand National on April 10.

An attendance of 2,000 was allowed for the Becher Chase in December during a brief window before racing returned to taking place behind closed doors in the latest lockdown.

That remains the situation as the sport awaits any ease in pandemic restrictions as the vaccination programme continues, with only key personnel permitted to be on course.
