Sir Michael Stoute has won three of the last eight renewals of this Group 3 and saddles market leaders Platitude and Ulysses.
His 2008 and 2009 victories came courtesy of Conduit and Harbinger, while Snow Sky was victorious in 2014. Aidan O'Brien won this last year with subsequent King George winner Highland Reel, again highlighting the latent quality required to win this, and he is also double-handed with Shogun and The Major General.
