The Vintage Stakes delivered a top-class winner last year when future Classic star Galileo Gold secured a three-quarter-length win for Hugo Palmer, maintaining a four-year run of producing serious performers.
The market leaders for Tuesday's clash – War Decree and Boynton – have already met once, with the honours going to the Charlie Appleby-trained Boynton, who came home three-quarters of a length in front. They meet again with Boynton carrying a 3lb penalty, meaning War Decree is the early favourite with the layers.
