Baffert ready to take on world again with superstar Arrogate

Nicholas Godfrey talks to the legendary trainer about his dazzling champion

If the mission to Meydan represents a new departure for the lanky roan colt Arrogate as the four-year-old has his first (and probably only) run outside America, it is familiar ground indeed for his trainer Bob Baffert.

The Dubai regular won the World Cup when it was held at Nad Al Sheba with Silver Charm and Captain Steve in 1998 and 2001.

Baffert, one of the most recognisable faces in the racing world, loves the place – despite suffering a heart attack there in 2012 before the World Cup meeting: "I tell you, Dubai has the best healthcare system in the world," he laughs.
