'She's a classy filly with a lot of ability - we have high expectations of her'
Senior features writer Peter Thomas talks to Simon Crisford
After two healthy seasons and with a strike-rate this campaign of 24 per cent, Simon and Ed Crisford have no reason to think taking out a joint-licence in 2020 was anything but a bright idea.
Indeed, with seven Group races already under their collective belt, including this year's Jebel Ali Mile with Algiers – racing out of their satellite yard in the Middle East – they have every reason to be optimistic for 2022.
"We've got a great team of people here at Gainsborough Thoroughbreds and everyone knows how we work," says Simon. "We have a stable in Dubai that's great fun and keeps everybody interested through the winter, as well as a small team of all-weather horses over here, and the numbers suggest we're moving in the right direction.
