The Ladbrokes Cox Plate barrier draw took place this morning at Breakfast with the Best and Winx drew stall six for Saturday's Group 1 at Moonee Valley.

Australia's superstar, who pleased trainer Chris Waller in a workout on Tuesday, bids for a record fourth win in the Aus$5 million contest and will face seven runners including Ladbrokes Stakes winner Benbatl, who will come from stall three and Rostropovich who will start from barrier eight.

Asked about the draw, the wondermare's rider Hugh Bowman said: "By the time her number was drawn you could see Benbatl was in three. I wouldn't have wanted barrier two, so six was the best of what was left. Depending on how the race is run I can ride Winx to suit her and the race."

"It's going to be a great race, it's a good field and I think Benbatl really offers some excitement to the race, it's going to be very interesting," Bowman told racing.com.

"Hopefully they will run at a good, solid gallop and there's every chance they will. It's easy to be comfortable when you know the horse is going so well. I'm really looking forward to it. It's a great position to be in and it's not going to last forever so let's enjoy it while we can."

Fourteen go to post for the Group 1 Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes, including US Navy Flag (stall two), Spirit Of Valor (14), Intelligence Cross (five) and Fleet Review (11).
