Soupy Soups rates a solid wager at tasty 7-2

This lightly raced performer is described as a "tough horse with a good attitude" by his trainer Neil Mulholland and those qualities were in evidence when he landed a 2m bumper at Ffos Las by a neck last October.
The five-year-old was disappointing when beaten 30 lengths in third on his hurdles debut at Fontwell the following month, but was given time to get over that poor run on unsuitably tacky ground and showed more on his return in a 2m41/2f maiden hurdle at Huntingdon in May. He was beaten 15 lengths in third, but travelled strongly and faded only late as if badly in need of the outing.
Mulholland will no doubt have made sure he has got more work into Soupy Soups for this return. He looks on a potentially favourable mark rated only 111 on his handicap debut and won his bumper on good ground, so conditions look ideal.
