'He's going to run in the Foy next and the plan is to go to the Arc' - connections' quotes on the leading Longchamp contenders

Aidan O’Brien, trainer of Whirl, Minnie Hauk, Los Angeles, Jan Brueghel, Delacroix, Scandinavia, Illinois, Twain and The Lion In Winter
Whirl might run in the Prix Vermeille next and then we'll see after that. [The Arc] is possible for Minnie Hauk. Los Angeles is going to run in the Prix Foy next and the plan is to go to the Arc with him. We were very happy with him [in the Royal Whip]. It was a slowly run race but we were happy, as it was a start back for him. Jan Brueghel might run in the Irish St Leger next and then we'll see after that. Delacroix will go for the Irish Champion Stakes next. Twain will not run. He's not far from coming back but I'm not sure when. Scandinavia is going to the St Leger and Illinois is going for the Irish St Leger at the moment. The Lion In Winter is a miler now, so we are going to leave him at that trip. He could go to the Solonaway Stakes at the Irish Champions Festival or the Prix du Moulin.

She’s in very good form. She had an open gallop – not really a piece of work – on Les Aigles on Tuesday morning, and she went very nicely. I think she’s going to have one more serious piece of work and she’s very much on track for the Vermeille.

John Hammond, racing manager to Gerard Augustin-Normand, joint-owner of Leffard
He’s fine and is due to work on Tuesday. He looks well and we are hopeful for a good run in the Niel which will book him his spot in the Arc. He stays well, can quicken and is not particularly ground dependent, so we are looking forward to the autumn with him.
