Course-and-distance specialist can bounce back to score

Secret Strategy
Av A Word
Powered
Conistone
Tyrsal
Billy My Boy
Brighton
Secret Strategy (3.45) was well beaten at Windsor last time out, but he has produced arguably his best two efforts over this course and distance and can bounce back.
Julia Feilden’s three-year-old bumped into a red-hot favourite here in April and confirmed a liking for the track with a clear win last month when he hit the front two furlongs from home and had plenty in hand by the finish. He can make the most of bottom weight.
Av A Word (3.15) is another course-and-distance winner with a big chance. He showed a game attitude to hold off Betsalottie here in May and probably ran to a similar level at Windsor last time out, staying on into third. He will benefit from the return of Luke Morris, with two starts under that jockey producing a win and a second.
Powered (5.15) has been frustrating to follow, but he belatedly opened his account last week and may be able to strike again in the finale. The David Evans-trained four-year-old was having his 28th start at Windsor and came from off the pace to win comfortably.
That was an apprentice race, which means he escapes a penalty, and the strong-travelling gelding could have plenty more to offer now that he has got his head in front.
Beverley
Conistone (4.00) has now raced nine times without success, but his last two efforts have suggested his turn was coming.
He was beaten only four lengths over this course and distance in May and then finished third over 1m4f, with the extra two furlongs stretching his stamina.
That was a stronger race, with runner-up Dyna Might winning next time, and James Bethell’s charge has dropped another 2lb.
Leicester
Miss Inga Sock will be popular after winning three of four starts this season, but she has been well beaten in two visits to Leicester and may be worth taking on with Tyrsal (7.40).
The six-year-old was unable to threaten from off the pace when a well-beaten fifth last time out, but he had previously been in good form and is on the mark he defied when securing his last victory by four lengths at Yarmouth last summer.
Newton Abbot
Champion amateur female jockey Page Fuller has three decent rides on this card and Billy My Boy (8.00) looks her best chance.
Chris Down’s eight-year-old is prone to the odd flop and certainly didn’t fire last time out, but his two previous efforts were among the best of his career including a Chepstow win when he made most and probably had a bit left in the tank.
He has a good record here, with a win and three places from five visits.
