Berlais shocks Dream to defy maximum price in Kempton slog

Surtee Du Berlais touched the maximum 999-1 in running on Betfair on her way to landing Kempton's OLBG Mares' Hurdle.
The 14-1 winner was under pressure at halfway and looked beaten after a mistake three-out, but that seemed to kick her into gear and she stayed on to foil a plunge on 2-1 favourite Rons Dream, who was backed at 1.07.
There was drama in the 2m4½f handicap chase after Uhlan Bute unseated rider Liam Treadwell when set for victory.
